For more than 80 years, the National Association for the Education of Young Children has worked to raise the quality of programs for all children from birth through age eight. A major part of NAEYC’s efforts to improve early childhood education is through different systems of accreditation for programs that are committed to meeting national standards of quality
When you see the NAEYC Accreditation torch, you know that your child will be safe, healthy, and learning each day. You know what makes a good child care program – infants are laid down on their backs to nap, toddlers are taken outside for well-supervised play, and preschoolers are learning about shapes and solving puzzles. NAEYC Accreditation means you’re getting this and more. In fact, more than one million families have chosen NAEYC Accreditation for their children.
NAEYC has created 10 standards that measure the quality of early childhood programs. The standards were created by a blue-ribbon panel of early childhood experts and are based on the latest early childhood research. Click here to learn more about NAEYC Accreditation.
Abby’s is Rated a Three Star facility by STARS for KIDS NOW, an organization that provides parents with a tool to help identify levels of quality when seeking a child care setting outside of their home. Parents can use the rating system to gain an understanding of the factors that contribute to quality care and education, and can choose a child care setting that best matches their family’s needs. Early care and education programs participating in STARS for KIDS NOW work to meet standards associated with quality care that result in positive outcomes for young children. Programs are assessed in the following areas: staff/child ratios, group size, curriculum, parent involvement, training/education of staff, regulatory compliance and personnel practices and assigned a rating of 1 to 4. For more information see STARS for Kids Now website.
Abby’s consistently earns accreditation from 4C for Children, the region’s principal child-care coordinating agency. 4C for Children was founded in 1972 by a coalition of five agencies and founders committed to ensuring the quality, effectiveness and availability of early childhood learning and care in the Greater Cincinnati area.
